Our Story

Dark Tide Studio was founded by sisters Erin and Hallie, who grew up on Anna Maria Island and have called the area home for more than 20 years. For us, the island is more than the inspiration behind our work. It is where we were raised, where much of our family has built their lives, and where our connection to community first took root.

Community involvement has long been a family tradition.

Our grandmother served as a commissioner for the City of Anna Maria, working diligently to preserve and beautify the city through projects including the Anna Maria Historical Pier Boardwalk. Our aunts and extended family have also made Anna Maria Island their home, contributing as local business owners and through involvement in local government.

Since 2017, our mother and aunt have carried that tradition forward as the owners of Pineapple Marketplace, creating a space where local, women-owned small businesses can grow, find their footing, and connect with the community. Dark Tide Studio grew from that same love of creativity, family, and place. Through our art, gifts, and locally inspired designs, we hope to create pieces that feel true to the island we grew up on while supporting the small-business community that has supported our family for generations.
